I can’t tell you how your own kitchen ought to be furnished to cook: all I can do is to tell you how mine goes. I have absolutely started from scratch, on a student budget, and to be absolutely frank with you, a writer’s budget doesn’t go much further. And I don’t have any space, either. Everything in these lists is something I use, and either can be got for cheap, or is worth saving up for.
